Enugu State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in apprehending a suspect linked to a string of robberies perpetrated using a toy gun, as announced by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, on Saturday in Enugu.

The 28-year-old suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday following collaborative efforts between police operatives and a Neighbourhood Watch Group. His arraignment took place on Friday, marking a swift response to the ongoing criminal activities plaguing the area.

During the arrest, law enforcement officials successfully recovered the toy pistol believed to have been used in the commission of multiple crimes. Investigations have uncovered a pattern of involvement by the suspect and his accomplices, who remain at large, in various offenses including armed robbery, burglary, and theft, prompting heightened vigilance from authorities.

In light of the gravity of the charges against him, the apprehended suspect has been remanded at the Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre pending further legal proceedings.
