In a dramatic turn of events, a wanted terrorist leader identified as Mudi, along with his son Murtala, were among those who lost their lives in a fierce battle between rival factions at a gold mining site in the Kuyallo area of Birnin Gwari, Kaduna state.

According to intelligence sources cited by PR Nigeria, the clash erupted between the Jammatu Ansarul Musulmin Biladis Sunna (Ansaru) group and the notorious Dogo Gide's bandit groups. Dogo Gide's faction has been linked to numerous mass abductions and violent attacks in the Northwest region.

The conflict over control of the gold mining sites escalated, resulting in heavy casualties on both sides. Dogo Gide's group suffered significant losses, including key associates and family members, in addition to the demise of Mudi and Murtala.

It's reported that the terrorists involved in the gold mining activities export the mined gold out of the country through neighboring Niger Republic, indicating a broader network of criminal elements spanning across borders.

The incident underscores the intense competition for dominance over lucrative mining sites in Birnin Gwari, where several such locations are situated. The smuggling of mined products further highlights the connection between criminal activities in Nigeria and neighboring countries.

As tensions continue to simmer, the clash serves as a grim reminder of the escalating rivalry between different factions operating in the Northwest region, including the encroachment of groups like JAS and ISWAP.

Terrorists and bandits in the North shared mining sites amongst themselves while the federal government of Nigeria bombs illegal oil refiners in Niger Delta. God will keep punishing these northerners who feel that Nigeria belongs to them.
