Dear poster, it is some years since which means you probably have already entered into marriage with your Liberian man???  I have not read the latest posts just yet.  As well, you have learned that there is the culture that is seen and one that is known to those who were born and raised there that many never see or learn about.  It will take years to adapt and learn about the culture but I found that watching the movies (Liberian), even if you do not hear the language yet, helps to understand what is normal and accptable in the day to day living.  It will also bring up topics that might not come up for you to ask your man, so he can discuss more with you. 

I pray that you have a happy marriage, that your man teach you all that you need to know to stand firm on all sides, that he is open to learning what is good from the American culture, that you both respect and patiently understand your differences minus outside interference and that in Jesus name you both together pull down the physical, mental and spiritual strongholds YOU WILL ENCOUNTER, that destroy if allowed to.  Please do not ignore the signs or dismiss them!
