
On June 9, 2024, the Nigerian Army successfully thwarted an abduction attempt by terrorists in Zamfara State. The incident occurred along the Gusau-Tsafe-Funtua road, specifically in
the Angwan Chida area of Tsafe Local Government Area. Responding to a distress call, troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce shootout, during which they neutralized two terrorists and rescued four passengers who were being targeted for abduction from a Toyota Corolla.
The rescue operation also led to the recovery of significant items from the terrorists, including two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, 31 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one motorcycle, and the vehicle involved in the attempted abduction. This swift and decisive action by the Nigerian Army highlights their ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and ensure the safety of citizens in the region.
