Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke has voiced his disapproval of Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen's strong response to accusations made by former Super Eagles manager Finidi George.
In a recent exchange, Finidi George accused Osimhen of feigning injury to avoid participating in World Cup qualifiers, sparking a fiery denial from the footballer who vehemently refuted the claims and vowed not to tolerate disrespect.
While acknowledging his support for the Super Eagles, Gideon Okeke expressed discomfort with Osimhen's outburst, suggesting that such reactions were not in line with positive behavior.
"As a supporter of the Super Eagles, I felt uneasy watching Victor Osimhen's response. While I understand the passion involved, there are more constructive ways to handle criticisms," Okeke stated.
Encouraging Osimhen to maintain composure and grace in the face of challenges, Okeke emphasized the importance of speaking respectfully, considering the unpredictable nature of life.
"Victor Osimhen's reaction was over the top. The Super Eagles are a team I deeply care about, and I cringed witnessing that outburst. We all go through ups and downs in life. All love still, Vic... but let's choose our words wisely," Okeke added.

The actor's remarks reflect a call for sportsmanship and diplomacy in handling public scrutiny, urging Osimhen and other athletes to uphold positive values both on and off the field.
As discussions around the incident continue, Nigerians await further developments in the ongoing narrative between Osimhen and critics like Finidi George, hoping for a resolution that promotes unity and respect within the football community.
