In a significant development, the police in Kaduna State have apprehended four individuals suspected of vandalizing transmission towers belonging to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). This information was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs at TCN, based in Abuja.

According to Mbah, the operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command caught the suspects in the act of destroying transmission towers installed across various locations in the state. The suspects were reportedly found in possession of tools such as shovels and diggers, which were presumably used in the vandalism.

Expressing gratitude for the swift action by the police, Mbah underscored TCN's commitment to collaborating closely with security agencies to safeguard its transmission infrastructure nationwide.

"The suspects will face prosecution in due course," Mbah affirmed, emphasizing TCN's resolve to ensure that those responsible for jeopardizing public utilities face the full weight of the law.

Vandalism of public infrastructure remains a significant challenge in Nigeria, with various agencies intensifying efforts to curb such criminal activities that disrupt essential services and endanger lives.
