The management of KAM Steel Integrated Company has stated that Yahaya Ibrahim, who reportedly died after slipping on a roller engine at its facility along the Sagamu-Ogijo Expressway in Ogun State, was not operating the machine at the time of the incident.

The Head of Human Capital of the steel firm, Tunde Badejo, in a statement made available on Monday, said Ibrahim was a staff of one of the contractors to the company.

Badejo explained that the incident, which happened on Saturday at about 9.12 pm, was promptly reported to the DPO of the area.

He described the incident as purely industrial in nature and involved only the deceased.

He, however, disclosed that there is an ongoing investigation of the incident with a possible post-mortem report to situate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

While commiserating with the family of the deceased, the company appealed to the public to wait for the outcome of the investigation and a possible post-mortem report on the incident.
