Nollywood actress and movie producer Yvonne Jegede has shared the devastating news of the death of one of her children, Olamide Ajimuda, from cholera.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Jegede revealed that she has been the sole financial supporter for three children since 2019. Tragically, Olamide, who was preparing to enter Junior Secondary School 3 after the summer break, succumbed to the disease.
Jegede recounted her first encounter with Olamide when he was in Primary 4. Her emotional message highlighted the profound impact his loss has had on her. Despite this tragedy, Jegede also celebrated the recent graduation of the two other children she supports, including Olamide's sister.

"I’m heartbroken because I lost one of my children to cholera. Olamide and I met when he was in Primary 4 and was supposed to go to JSS3 after this summer break. The news broke my heart. I am also happy that two of my children graduated yesterday from secondary school, and one of them is Olamide’s sister. I don’t have all the money in the world, but this makes my world complete,"
Jegede wrote.Since taking on the responsibility of supporting these children, Jegede has relied on what she describes as divine providence to meet their needs. She expressed her gratitude for the strength and support she has received, crediting her faith for guiding her through these challenging times.
“Since 2019 till date, I don’t know how I do it, but my God provides enough to carry them through. Rest In Power Olamide Ajimuda,” she concluded.
Jegede's announcement has elicited an outpouring of sympathy and support from her fans and the Nollywood community, who have expressed their condolences and admiration for her dedication and strength.
