In a brutal act of terrorism, suspected Boko Haram militants launched a deadly assault on Faudiya School in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State. The attack targeted an educational institution affiliated with the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), a prominent Shia sect, transforming the school into a scene of tragedy.
According to sources who spoke to *Daily Trust*, the attack occurred at approximately 3:44 a.m. on Friday when the gunmen stormed the Hausari quarters of Geidam. Under the cover of darkness, the assailants took advantage of the students' vulnerability, as many were asleep when the attack began.
Eyewitnesses reported that the insurgents dragged the students outside before executing them. "They attacked the school when these youths were asleep, brought them outside, and shot them dead," a source revealed. The attack has left the community in shock, with rising fear and tension in the aftermath of the violence.
A local vigilante confirmed to the newspaper that three members of the Shia sect were killed, while one person sustained injuries and has been hospitalized. "We don't know who these gunmen are, but they killed three students. One person who tried to escape was injured," the vigilante added.
The Yobe State Police Command, through its spokesperson DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the incident but did not provide further details. The attack marks another grim chapter in the ongoing violence perpetrated by Boko Haram in the region.
