
The Kano State Fire Service successfully rescued a woman and her two children who were trapped in a collapsed building in the Makwarari area of Kano Municipal Local Government Area on Friday.
According to Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Friday. The building involved was a one-storey structure measuring 30 feet by 40 feet.
Abdullahi detailed that the emergency call was received from Ibrahim Isah, a staff member of the Fire Service, prompting an immediate response. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and managed to rescue the victims, who were then transported to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital for medical care.
The rescued individuals have been identified as Balaraba Abba, 35, and her two sons, Abdulnasir Jilani, 12, and Abdullahi Jilani, 9.
The cause of the building collapse is currently under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the factors that led to the incident.
