The Kano State Government has donated N100 million to support victims of the recent floods that ravaged some parts of Borno State.

The cheque for donation of N100 million was presented to the Governor of Borno state by Kano State Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye in Maiduguri on Sunday.

Others in the entourage include Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Eradication, Hajiya Amina Sani, and Special Adviser to the Governor on Policy and Social Development, Dr. Danyaro Yakasai.

They paid a sympathy visit to the government and people of Borno state on behalf of Governor Yusuf.

Governor Yusuf expressed deep sympathy for the victims, describing the humanitarian crisis as catastrophic, and called for widespread support for the affected people.

He emphasized that such disasters require collective efforts and reaffirmed that Kano State stands in solidarity with Borno during this difficult time. He also prayed to Allah to prevent future occurrences of such floods.

Governor Yusuf highlighted the longstanding, brotherly, and cordial relationship between Kano and Borno States.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the flood and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

In response, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum expressed profound gratitude to the Kano State Government and its people for their generous support.

He assured that the donation would be used judiciously for the benefit of the flood victims, ensuring that it reaches those most in need.

“This act of kindness exemplifies the unity and shared commitment of Nigerian states in times of crisis,” he added
