Joined in the suit as second defendant is a nurse, Miss Rebecca Akpan, who allegedly administered the banned drug, Analgin, on the plaintiff, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
He said he was rushed to the Eket-based private clinic on December 3, 2010 after he was involved in a road accident.
According to a writ of summons from the Eket High Court, the plaintiff claimed that the two fingers of his right hand were amputated following the adverse reactions from the banned drug caused by the negligence of the defendants.
The plaintiff claimed that the banned drug was allegedly administered on him as an injection on his right arm.
Ngaka is praying the court to award him the N50m as general damages for the adverse effects he suffered from the banned drug. The plaintiff also claimed that there might be an outright amputation of his right hand, thereby causing him permanent incapacitation and disability.
