Activist and politician Aisha Yesufu has clarified that she is not a member of the Labour Party (LP) or any other political party. Despite being part of the 2023 LP presidential campaign council, Yesufu stated that she has never held a party membership card.
Speaking on Seun Okinbaloye's podcast *Mic On* on Saturday, Yesufu firmly denied ever seeking political appointments or contracts, emphasizing her financial independence and commitment to her personal business ventures.
"I am not a member of the Labour Party. I have never been a card-carrying member of any party," Yesufu declared. "I dare anybody, living or dead, to say that I, Aisha Yesufu, have ever been to your place to look for an appointment, contract, or whatever."
Yesufu, who is known for her outspoken stance on national issues, further highlighted her self-reliance, saying, "I worked on my financial independence before I started speaking on Nigerian issues. I am a trader—I buy, I sell, I distribute, and I build and sell houses."
Her comments have drawn attention, as Yesufu continues to maintain a strong presence in activism while distancing herself from partisan politics.
