A man identified as Kadiri Yusuf is on the run after allegedly assaulting his two children, aged 11 and 13, in the Agege area of Lagos State. The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident on Saturday, revealing that the suspect severely beat his children, causing significant injuries.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the assault took place around 5:00 p.m. on Friday. A concerned member of the public, alerted by the children's plight, reported the matter to the police.
"The head teacher of a primary school in Orile Agege informed the Elere Division that an 11-year-old pupil told her her father had beaten both her and her 13-year-old brother, causing them bodily harm," Hundeyin stated.
Following the report, the police swiftly intervened, and the injured children were treated and placed in the care of their maternal aunt for safety. Meanwhile, efforts to apprehend Yusuf are ongoing, and an investigation is underway.
