A Nigerian woman living abroad has shared her heartfelt experience after coming out as a lesbian to her mother. The woman, who took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), recounted how the conversation unfolded during her mother’s recent visit.
According to her, her mother had suspected her segxwality for some time but finally confronted her about it. What followed, she said, was one of the most meaningful and supportive conversations she had ever had with her mother.
"Came out to my mum about a week ago when she came to visit (more like she finally confronted me about it because I know she lowkey already knew)," she wrote. "The conversation was probably one of the best conversations I’ve ever had with her and I felt so safe talking about it with her."
In a heartwarming twist, she revealed that her mother not only accepted her but also expressed fondness for her girlfriend. "Plus she likes my girlfriend so much, and I love that so much for us," she added.
The woman concluded by sharing how the three of them had spent time together before her mother left, describing their time together as filled with fun.
