
Authorities in Bauchi State have made a significant drug-related arrest with the apprehension of 33-year-old Sunday Jonathan Ogenyi, who was found in possession of 76,600 tramadol pills concealed in hidden compartments of his Toyota Sienna vehicle, registered as Enugu JRV 341 ZY. The arrest took place along the Bauchi-Jos road, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
In a separate operation on Tuesday, October 15th, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Lagos apprehended Andrew Joseph Anoriode, who was caught with 3 kilograms of methamphetamine and 1.90 kilograms of cannabis on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Additionally, a staggering 241 kilograms of methamphetamine were seized in the Gbaji area of Badagry.
On the same day, NDLEA officials arrested a suspected methamphetamine manufacturer, Agbeiboh Oscar, at Abule Osun. He was found with 265 grams of methamphetamine and various quantities of precursor chemicals used for meth production.
These recent arrests underscore the NDLEA's commitment to tackling drug-related crimes and the ongoing challenges posed by narcotics trafficking in Nigeria. Authorities are expected to continue their efforts to disrupt the drug trade and hold offenders accountable.
