
On Friday, four men appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, facing charges of conspiracy and theft involving tiles valued at N200,000. The defendants, identified as Olalekan Hamzat, 42; Olawale Oluwole, 44; Raman Olagbenjo, 44; and Kunmi Akinlolu, 40, all pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Prosecutor Inspector Toyin Ibrahim informed the court that the alleged offense occurred on Tuesday around 3:45 p.m. at Liberty Garden, Apata, Ibadan. Ibrahim stated that the accused individuals were charged with the theft of 16 cartons of 60×60 tiles belonging to Mayor Block Industry. The charges brought against them fall under Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Presiding Magistrate Kausarat Ayofe granted each defendant bail in the amount of N500,000, with the condition that they each provide two reliable sureties in like sum. The case has been adjourned until December 16 for further hearing.
