The Kebbi State Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intensified its fight against smuggling, seizing goods valued at N323 million in a series of recent operations. Customs Area Comptroller Iheanacho Ernest-Ojike shared the third-quarter achievements with journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

Highlighting the recent haul, Ernest-Ojike said that officers seized 367 bales of secondhand clothing, 16,300 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), 74 cartons of various medicaments, eight bags of foreign parboiled rice (each weighing 50 kg), and 180 pieces of donkey skin packed in nine sacks. Other confiscated items include two liters of oxidized nitric acid, a DAF truck, and a Toyota Corolla used in smuggling operations.

Five individuals were arrested in connection with the seizures and have been granted administrative bail pending further investigation and trial.
