In a disturbing incident that has sparked widespread outrage, a police officer from the Otuocha Area Command in Anambra State allegedly shot and killed a young man on Saturday following a disagreement at a checkpoint. Sources indicate the confrontation erupted over a N100 transaction, though it remains unclear whether it involved a requested bribe or a payment balance dispute.

The altercation reportedly turned deadly when one of the officers, identified as Inspector Sani Suleiman, fired on the youth, resulting in his immediate death. A local source from Aguleri, Anambra East, shared details of the incident, along with a video showing the young man's body, bringing the tragic news to public attention.

The killing has ignited protests across the community, with outraged youths rallying against the police. Witnesses claim the police team involved was led by an officer named Onyebuchi.

Responding to inquiries, Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident and stated that the officer involved had been disarmed and taken into custody. “The Police Officer involved has been identified as Inspector Sani Suleiman. He has been disarmed and detained for further investigations and internal disciplinary procedures,” Ikenga stated.

This tragic episode has reignited calls for accountability and reform within Nigeria's police force as the community awaits the outcome of the investigation.

The problem we are having in this country now is the madness of Nigerian security officials of northern extraction. They are wild, uncivilized and untrained. Acting very much like their terrorists brothers in the forests. Running riot in Igboland.
