Nollywood actress Tawa Ajisefinni has shared her emotional journey before becoming a mother, revealing how societal pressure and name-calling took a toll on her mental health.
In a conversation on the podcast Talk to B, hosted by her colleague Biola Bayo, Tawa recounted being relentlessly trolled over her inability to conceive earlier in her marriage.
She disclosed that critics cruelly branded her a “barren woman,” a term that caused her significant distress. “It brought tears to my eyes,” she said, reflecting on the hurtful remarks she endured.
Addressing rumors of infidelity, the actress firmly shut down any speculations.
She revealed that she remained a virgin until her marriage at the age of 30, relating her decision to her aversion to men earlier in life.
“I married as a virgin,” Tawa stated, emphasizing the value she placed on her chastity.
During the interview, Tawa also expressed gratitude to Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, whom she credited as a mentor early in her career.
She revealed that after graduating from school, Funke helped her produce one of her movies, a gesture she described as important in her journey.
