Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya has broken her silence on her turbulent 15-year marriage, revealing startling details about her sacrifices, challenges, and a chilling assassination attempt.
In an emotional interview on the YouTube series *Iriri Mi*, hosted by fellow actress Bimpe Akintunde, Toyosi recounted her efforts to preserve her marriage, despite facing daunting odds and personal risks.
The actress revealed that she relocated from Lagos to Akure to focus on her family, believing the move would balance her career and marital responsibilities. When her husband later moved abroad, Toyosi personally funded trips to join him, hoping to save the relationship.
Despite her sacrifices, Toyosi alleged that external forces and spiritual attacks infiltrated her marriage, leading to its eventual collapse. "The person I married didn’t offend me, but he allowed the devil into the marriage," she said. She disclosed leaving the house they built together, prioritizing her safety after sensing her life was in danger.
The most harrowing revelation came when Toyosi claimed she narrowly escaped an assassination attempt, where she alleged another person died in her place. "My life was miraculously saved," she said, visibly emotional.
Her colleague, Bimpe Akintunde, corroborated some of her struggles, recalling how Toyosi, despite her celebrity status, was seen fetching water and performing menial tasks in Akure. "It was shocking to see someone of her status doing such, but she was determined to make her marriage work," Bimpe remarked.
Reflecting on her experience, Toyosi expressed gratitude for surviving and emphasized that she is hesitant about remarrying. "I’ve been through so much. I told my current partner I will only have one wedding in my life. I don’t want to go through that again," she said.
Toyosi’s revelations have sparked discussions about the hidden struggles of women in high-profile marriages, with fans and colleagues commending her courage to speak out.
