A young man, identified as Dabit Jesse Longji, tragically lost his life on Tuesday night after being attacked by suspected phone thieves in Jos.
The incident occurred as Jesse was en route to the Plateau State Crossover event held near the Secretariat flyover. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers ambushed him, stole his phone, and stabbed him, leaving him critically injured.
Bystanders later discovered Jesse unconscious at the British America axis and rushed him to the hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
Close friends and family members have taken to social media to mourn his untimely death, describing him as a promising young man with a bright future.
The tragic incident has cast a shadow over the New Year celebrations in the area, with many calling for heightened security to prevent such occurrences. Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the case.
