PHOTOS: Bandits Wreck Havoc in Kaduna Community, Set Churches, Houses Ablaze

Suspected bandits launched an attack on Unguwar Rogo in the Ugom community, Maro Ward, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, setting fire to a church and several houses.

It was gathered that the gunmen attacked the community on New Year's Day, leaving destruction in their wake.


Zamani Ishaku, a resident of Maro, who confirmed the attack to Daily Trust on Thursday, lamented that the area has been under constant assault from gunmen for a while.

A statement signed by the Chairman of the Ugom Progressive Union, Ishaya Onussim, said the attackers vandalised properties, stole various farm products, burned down six houses, and set the ECWA Church in Unguwar Rogo ablaze after looting valuables from the church and its pastorium.

“All the residents fled into the bushes, abandoning their belongings in a bid to save their lives,” Onussim said.

He appealed to governments at all levels to intervene urgently, adding that it was disheartening for people to face such an incident so early in the year.


He also called for prayers and increased security presence in the area.

Where is the Chief Of Defence Staff whose only area of concern in the whole of Nigeria is South East ? Where his rehabilitated Boko Haram terrorists in army uniforms are running riot. Killing, kidnapping, destroying and maiming under the guise of going after IPOB and ESN members. This is happening in your state of KADUNA. Or will you tell NIGERIANS that Simon Ekpa had a hand in  what is happening in your state? It's obvious that terrorists not BANDITS are in control of 80% of northern Nigeria.
