Paul Onwuanibe, CEO of Landmark Beach Resorts, is making headlines once again as he prepares to relocate his renowned business to Port Harcourt. This comes months after the Nigerian government demolished the multi-million-dollar Landmark Beach in Lagos.

Although the company had signed a mutual agreement with the Gambian government to establish operations there, the CEO has now announced plans to also build a resort in Port Harcourt. The project aims to transform the Port Harcourt Tourist Beach into a world-class tourism destination, replicating the success of the former Lagos beach.

The company disclosed this development earlier today through an official post on their X account, signaling their commitment to reviving Nigeria’s tourism sector despite previous setbacks.

Soon Lagos will turn to a ghost state. I only hope he succeeds in Port Harcourt because these Yoruba people are extending their tentacles to Rivers State. Imagine Tinubu naming Port Harcourt international airport after Obafemi Awolowo . Very insignificant historically.

Port Harcourt’s Tourist Beach has always had potential, so turning it into a world-class spot could really shake things up. Makes me think about how much places like Brisbane have invested in their city centers. Staying in a Brisbane CBD hotel, for example, puts you right in the mix of everything while still offering a great spot to unwind.
