Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested Lukman Isiaka and his wife, Abosede Olanipekun, on charges of child abduction in Ondo and Osun states.
According to reports from The Nation, the police have managed to recover 10 children believed to have been stolen by the couple, though several distraught parents, who gathered at the police headquarters, are still searching for their missing children.
The couple is accused of using various tactics to abduct children and then selling them for N1 million each to Sabina Izuorah, a 62-year-old woman from Ihiala in Anambra State.
The couple’s arrest followed an investigation launched after a mother reported her child missing. The police’s efforts to crack down on this operation led to the couple's capture and the recovery of several children.
While attempts to contact the Ondo Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, for further comment were unsuccessful, the case has drawn significant attention from the public and authorities alike.
