Nigerian culture says the man, but logically if one party is financially boyant then that party should contribute for the wedding or if both are financially boyant then both of them will contribute for the best output, it's all about the couple...

Traditionally, the bride's family sponsors the wedding. The guy is required to add too, but the chunk of the whole ceremony goes to the bride's family. If the bride's family is financially down, then the guy takes care of things.

It should be 50/50! And people should be realistic. There are guys who are sweating bullets because they are scared of the cost of a wedding! I say split the cost...
