
Operatives of the Niger State Police Command have arrested two suspected miscreants, Mariam Abdullahi, 22, and Aliyu Abubakar, 25, for possession of a dangerous weapon and illicit substances in Minna.
According to a statement issued over the weekend by the command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the duo was apprehended on February 5, 2025, at about 8:30 p.m. by a police patrol team attached to Tudun-Wada Division. The suspects were intercepted in a tricycle in the Tunga area, where they were found in possession of a long sharp knife and two wraps of cannabis.
Abiodun confirmed that the suspects, both residents of Bosso area in Minna, are currently under investigation and will soon be charged in court. The police assured the public of continued efforts to curb criminal activities in the state.
