Popular Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo has finally spoken out about the reasons behind her departure from the movie industry, despite her deep love for acting.
The actress, who recently got married, addressed concerns from fans who have missed seeing her on screen. In a candid revelation, she disclosed that she was forced to leave Nollywood due to troubling experiences with film marketers who allegedly demanded segxwal favors.
Without naming individuals, Okeowo recounted how these marketers deliberately sabotaged her career after she refused to comply with their unethical demands.
"Marketers blacklisted me because I refused to remove my panties. They even instructed producers to stop casting me in films and went as far as removing my image from a movie poster, despite playing the lead role," she alleged.
She further explained how the repeated mistreatment drained her passion for acting, leading her to walk away from the industry.
"They did so much damage to my career that I eventually got tired and left on my own. I developed such a strong dislike for a profession I once loved that I started rejecting roles," she stated.
Her revelations have sparked reactions within the industry, with many calling for reforms to protect actors from exploitation.
