Actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has expressed his frustration and disappointment with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg over a mysterious decline in his Instagram followers
In a recent video, Kanayo revealed that his follower count had plummeted from 2.3 million to 1.9 million over the past 7-8 months, with no apparent explanation.
Kanayo questioned the logic behind the drop, highlighting that his content and engagement had not decreased.
He also pointed out that many other creators, particularly Africans, were experiencing similar declines.
Kanayo urged Zuckerberg and his team to investigate and address this issue, emphasizing that Nigerian creators contribute significantly to the platform’s success and deserve fair treatment.
He stated, “It’s concerning that my followership hasn’t increased by even a thousand in seven to eight months. As content creators, we have no control over the platform, and the way we’re being treated is unacceptable. I’m calling on Instagram’s owners to recognize our value and treat us fairly; it’s a mutually beneficial relationship.”
