Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of making unwanted advances towards her and subsequently victimizing her after she rejected them. In an interview with Arise News, she claimed that her confrontations with Akpabio began after she declined his alleged romantic propositions.
In response, Ekaette Akpabio, the wife of the Senate President, dismissed these allegations, describing them as unfounded and misleading.
She emphasized her husband's disciplined and responsible nature, stating that he has been a family friend to Akpoti-Uduaghan and her husband even before their marriage. Ekaette also refuted claims about property ownership in Ikot Ekpene, clarifying that they do not own a house there.
This dispute follows a recent altercation in the Senate chambers, where Akpabio ordered Akpoti-Uduaghan's removal due to disagreements over seating arrangements.
The senator accused Akpabio of silencing her and blocking her legislative motions, further intensifying tensions between them.
