Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Policy, has reacted to a US Congress report stating that Christians are being persecuted in Nigeria under Bola Tinubu’s government.

According to Bwala, Tinubu remains committed to promoting peace and religious tolerance.

The statement comes after the US House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee approved sanctions on Nigeria over ‘widespread killing of Christians and religious violence’.

The committee gave President Donald Trump the green light to impose stringent sanctions on Nigeria in response to widespread killing of Christians in the country.

The decision came after a congressional hearing on Wednesday, during which lawmakers condemned the Nigerian government for failing to protect Christian communities from escalating violence.

However, responding to the development, Bwala, one of the spokespersons for the Presidency, said the committee’s report falls short of context and timelines.

Posting on X, Bwala said: “The administration of @officialABAT President Bola Tinubu promotes religious tolerance . Since May 29th 2023, when President Tinubu assumed the office as president, there have been little or no case at all of persecution of Christians anywhere in the country.

“Secondly, while we are in no way admitting or authenticating the report of the US foreign relations committee, it is note worthy to state that the committee’s report falls short of context and timelines.

“President Bola Tinubu remains committed to promoting peace and religious tolerance.”

The ultimate agenda is to Islamize Nigeria, but God will not allow them. I don't understand why Fulani herders carrying AK47, killing and molesting innocent citizens are yet to be declared as terrorists, but the government can declare someone who was defending himself as a murderer and criminal. Unfortunately, those that supposed to speak out has offed their mic. They want to subtly bring sharia to a multi-religious zone because these same people had smuggled it into the constitution. GOD WILL JUDGE ALL OF YOU IN DUE SEASON, INCLUDING THOSE THAT SUPPOSED TO FIGHT FOR THEIR RACE BUT ARE KEEPING QUIET FOR REASONS BEST KNOWN TO THEM.

LoL... when I see someone I respect start to talk as if Nigerian politicians give a phyuk about your religion, I blame myself for respecting them in the first place. The most persecuted and terrorised set of people in Nigeria today are the northerners. Any sane person will know that. Majority of the people in northern Nigeria are Muslims. This persecution was there during GEJ, then Buhari, and continued during T-pain. If you still believe Nigerian politicians care about your religion, then I advise you to see a doctor to help you wash your brain because dust cover am Grin Grin Cheesy
