A petrol-laden tanker exploded earlier today at Karu Bridge along the Abuja-Nyanya-Keffi Road in Abuja, resulting in a tragic incident that has claimed multiple lives and destroyed numerous vehicles.

The explosion occurred during the evening rush hour, causing a massive fire that engulfed at least 30 vehicles.

Emergency responders, including personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other security agencies, are currently on the scene, working to contain the situation and assist victims.

The incident has led to severe traffic congestion along the axis, prompting many commuters to abandon their vehicles and flee the area for safety.

As of now, the exact number of casualties remains unconfirmed, but reports indicate that several lives have been lost.

This is the federal capital oo. go to Abuja and see bad roads that will make fuel tankers to twist and fall. Just this year alone do you know how many fuel tankers have exploded on Nigerian roads claiming multiple lives?? The bastards ruling that nation won't declare a state of emergency to fix the rotten state of infrastructure, but they'll declare a state of emergency to remove an elected official just for political gains.

I've never been to any part of URBAN Abuja that has bad roads, but this issue of Tanker explosions should be a National emergency. I have said it for years that its either the Government constructs a separate lane for Long Haul vehicles or make a law whereby, they are not to be on the road during the day. They may have to transport whatever, between the hours of 11PM to 6AM when the traffic is reduced.

Last I heard, such law has been passed. Problem is, you know Nigeria, laws are pronounced, but hardly implemented.
