Taraba State University Rolls Out the Red Carpet for 6,800 New Students

‎In a grand ceremony, Taraba State University, Jalingo, officially welcomed 6,800 fresh faces into its vibrant academic community for the 2024/2025 academic session. The 16th matriculation ceremony, held on March 28, 2025, at the Sports Complex, marked the beginning of an exciting journey for these young scholars.

‎Professor Sunday Paul Bako, the Vice-Chancellor, warmly congratulated the students on their admission, emphasizing the significance of this milestone in their academic pursuits. "Today, you embark on a journey that will shape your future, foster lifelong connections, and equip you with the skills to make a meaningful impact in the world," he remarked.

‎The newly admitted students were distributed across various faculties, including:

‎- Faculty of Agriculture: 188
‎- Faculty of Arts: 200
‎- Faculty of Communication and Media Studies: 278
‎- Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence: 103
‎- Faculty of Education: 1,021
‎- Faculty of Engineering: 312
‎- Faculty of Health Sciences: 951
‎- Faculty of Management Sciences: 535
‎- Faculty of Science: 830
‎- Faculty of Social Sciences: 647
‎- Sandwich Program: 465
‎- Institute for Distance Education and Lifelong Learning (IDELL): 306

‎Professor Bako also announced the establishment of two new faculties: Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence and Faculty of Religion and Philosophy. These additions will provide students with cutting-edge knowledge and skills in these rapidly evolving fields, empowering them to stay ahead of the curve.

‎The Vice-Chancellor attributed the university's recent achievements to the unwavering support of the university's visitor, His Excellency, the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas. He reaffirmed the institution's commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive academically and professionally.

‎The oath-taking session, conducted by the university's Registrar, Dr. Joseph U. Bibinu, formally inducted the students into the university community, marking the beginning of their academic journey.

‎As Taraba State University continues to nurture intellectual excellence and produce highly skilled graduates, the future looks brighter than ever for these 6,800 new students.
