The police in Lagos State have arrested a 25-year-old lady, Queen Nnenna Eneguwe, who allegedly stabbed her 18-year-old brother to death over a disagreement that ensued over some pieces of banana.
The police are also ascertaining the circumstances surrounding the death of the 18-year-old boy, identified as, Thankgod Eneguwa, who died on Tuesday night.
The deceased and his sister were, until the incidence, residents of 24 Bankole Street, Idi Oro at Mushin area of the state, and had, reportedly, in the past, had disagreements.
Thankgod reportedly died around 10.00 p.m on Tuesday night, having suffered from excessive loss of blood from the wound inflicted on him by his sister.
Queen had reportedly returned in the night to discover that some pieces of the banana had been eaten and it was clear that her younger brother had eaten them.
The suspect had demanded from the deceased, why he ate from the banana, which she claimed was given to her by somebody to keep.
The argument over the banana degenerated into a serious clash between the siblings and attempts by neighbours to pacify them were futile.
The sister reportedly went for a kitchen knife with which she stabbed her younger brother , in the upper part of the body , resulting in the 18 years old boy ’s death.
A police source , who pleaded anonymity, while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune stated that the deceased had lost alot of blood, before he rushed to a hospiatl for treatment.
The image maker in charge of the State Police command, Samuel Jinadu, confirmed the incident to the Nigerian Tribune and added that the police had arrested the suspect.
The Lagos State police spokesperson also stated that remains of the deceased had been deposited at a public mortuary for autopsy.
What a pity! It only takes a split second to shout those killer words and at thesame time act on them, and then it takes a life time to regret it. What a hopeless and wasted generation.
