OREROKPE - The administrative headquarters of Okpe Local Government and the ancestral home of Okpe nation has been thrown into mourning as a result of the death of a young man who paid his wife’s bride price and had his wedding the following Saturday only to die barely 24 hours later.
The young man, late Mr. Odemesa Gbighwo Kelly Afe in what looks like a drama, fell in love with Barr. (Miss) Onoriode Grace Kpeleke late last year.
The wedding which was termed a society wedding due to the personalities that were in attendance also saw the couple receiving car gift which unfortunately ended the groom’s life. The groom was said to have been involved in an accident while driving the car that was presented to him on his wedding day.
According to the elder sister of Kelly Afe, who was still in shock, she advised the brother not to rush into the marriage but wait until after the lenting season so as to seek the face of God concerning the marriage.
The mother in law of late Lachy Afe who received the rudest shock of her life about the death of her son in law with whom they danced together in the church earlier in the day has been hospitalised together with her daughter who was full of joy the previous day that no man will be disturbing her now that she is happily married.
As at the time of filing this report plans were underway for the burial arrangement.
Yeah, life is full of mysteries.....and most often, sad ones..... This is one of the reasons we should pray fervently and seek divine guidance when taking such steps... So sad!

African Voodoo at work ... I wonder why people kill each other in a fetish way.. Cowards only do that.
RIP young man.
I acknowledge that voodoo works on some people but in the first place, are you sure this chap knew how to drive properly? Many times we (Africans) fail to identify the root cause of the challenges facing us because we attribute the problem to voodoo.
