this is nt a matter of ajebutter life, it seems there is something wrong wit the mother, to cage a grown up man of 40yrs, dats too bad. even a child dats of dat kind of age dat dey dont cage, they do pray 4 him t get married on time. i think at ds juntn we shld ask d mother why she's treating d son in such manner. if after dat has be done, d woman refuse t change, i think d man is old enough t decide 4 himself.  : otanx

more greese t d elbow of d sender. The problem shouldn't even be the mother. The 40 year old himself has a lot of problems for not even atleast scolding the mother for such behavior. I understand that parents should not be talked to in a disrespectful way but sometimes they need to be scolded when they do something wrong... I always advice to talk to them first before it gets to the scolding stage. I am the 4th son, 27 years old, married, a great carer, have my own houses and investments and scolds my parents respectfully when they prove stubborn sometimes and most of the times that is the only language to make em really understand how serious and mature you are. Believe me, some parents want to see that in the children. That's how they know that you're REALLY grown and can run things on your own.

I LEFT MY PARENTS WHEN I WAS JUST 17 YEARS OLD THEN AFTER 5 YEARS WHEN I CAME BACK TO NIGERIA FOR THE FIRST TIME, I WAS A DIFFERENT PERSON TO MY PARENTS. MY FATHER WAS TALKING TO ME MAN TO MAN WHILE WE WERE SIPPING DRINKS AND MY FOODS ALWAYS BE PASS BEFORE ME. I GREW UP FASTER FOR LIVING ALONE AT MY EARLIER YEARS AND I WAS TAKING CARE OF THINGS BOTH HOME AND HERE. IN U.S. ONCE YOUR 18YRS YOUR PARENTS WILL TRY TO PUSH YOU OUT OF THEIR HOUSE. YOU BECOME A MAN EASILY ONCE YOU'RE LIVING ON YOUR OWN AND TAKING CARE OF YOUR BILLS AND OTHER THINGS. I DONT CARE HOW OLD YOU'RE, ONCE YOUR STILL LIVING WITH YOUR PARENTS, THEY'LL STILL TALK TO YOU AS A BABY..

Even at that 24yrs of age, she still pick up the tooth brush with toothpaste and brush my teeth. One day, my dad said michro has become a grown up man, so let him do what he is supposed to do for himself as he walked towards her and dragged the toothbrush from her. My mum belived u're still a child as long as u're not married, regardless of ur age. So, I left my hometown for another western state and lived for about six yrs b4 I went back home. She told me it took her more than two yrs to get over the emotional pain. My elder brother was away from home for more than 13 yrs. My fear now is how my two younger ones will as well escape.

If you want to break away... Just get your own apartment/house and live more than 8 hours away from your parents.
