Quote
JOS, Nigeria, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Authorities imposed a night-time curfew on the central Nigerian city of Jos on Friday and soldiers deployed on the streets after at least four people died in ethnic-religious clashes over a local election.

"Government is imposing a curfew in Jos ... and the environs from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. (1700-0500 GMT)," Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau state, of which Jos is the capital, said in a broadcast.

Residents said soldiers had deployed on the streets of the city, where clashes have broken out in the past between the Muslim and Christian communities, and that several churches and mosques had been burned. (Reporting by Shuaibu Mohammed; Writing by Nick Tattersall; Editing by Kevin Liffey)

Its a shame you know, Jos used to be one of the most beautiful and peaceful city in nigeria, untill 2001 when i left after a major clash between christians and moslems and i thought it was over. Its really sad to hear this. May God deliver our family and friends still living there.

Sad Shocked  When shall we grow in Nigeria? This is why we are not moving forward in Nigeria. We always shed blood in the name of religion.what is the defination of religion?...The union of our soul with the creator.God will never have mercy on anybody that kills on the pretence of religion. We cannot fight for God.
I pray for the families of the lost people.May God give them the fortitude to bear the loss.

I suppose is time for Nigerians to wake up from their slumber, they shouldn't turn their political fanaticism to religious crisis, Islamic and Christianity are two different religions and should have nothing in connection with politics.

Quite pity for the bereaved families.  Sad Sad
