You just said that your child was asking you questions. So if it's done in public by adults, won't your child see it as well? Whether matured or not, leave the extra stuff for your bedroom. I don't think it applies to just one part of the population. Everyone should refrain from overdoing it because both the young and old are all watching

i see nothing wrong in displaying publicly the feelings you claim you have for each other.I see it as fun and a way to let your spouse/partner know you are into him/her.
