To me, nothing beats iPhone. All the pinging nonsense can actually be used with WhatsApp application which is cross-platform. ie you can have it on BB, iPhone, Nokia Samsung etc etc. And it performs the same function if not better than bb's pinging facility. I know pple omn BB who actuially use WhatsApp, and it is free to download and use as well.
