Getting married is different animal on its own and those are really ready do their homework before dabbling into one. Many marriages broke down from the on start when the reality sets in and I do believe she/he would see where she/he tripped before getting into another one if reconciliation might be possible in the future which cannot be ruled out for the sake of that kid. If indeed it was for true love and respect nothing can be ruled out except otherwise. It's a norm to fight and argue, but going the extreme where life might be lost would be better to part ways than paying the ultimate prize of ones life for love and it never worth it. Best of luck to both of them as they're sorting their life out.
