Independence for South Sudan: Time to celebrate?

A few days ago, South Sudan got her independence from the old Sudan after 20 years of civil war. Just yesterday, this same country was admitted as the 193rd member nation of the UN.

Do you think these events will eventually emancipate the people of South Sudan from the untold hardship that they have suffered for God-knows-how-long?

Secondly, are there lessons that Nigeria can learn from the recent happenings in Sudan and South Sudan?
