A 30-year-old woman, Mrs Bilkisi Gidado, on Sunday, committed suicide in Jalingo, Taraba State. Madam Gidado, who hails from Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, set herself ablaze and eventually fell into a well in her residence. Nigerian Tribune learnt that Mrs Gidado committed suicide on Saturday, due to frustrations allegedly caused by her husband, Yusuf Gidado, after he took a second wife. The woman, who was reportedly being maltreated by her husband, the Nigerian Tribune further leant, poured a gallon of petrol on her body and immediately lit herself up before falling into the well. According to eyewitness, Mrs Gidado was, however, rescued by sym-pathisers, who rushed her to the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, where she was pronounced dead. At the family compound in Sabin-Gari, where the incident happened, close neighbours to the deceased told the Nigerian Tribune that it was un-Islamic for any Muslim to neglect his first wife because he had taken another wife, adding that the husband was under obligation to give them equal love. When contacted, the police in Jalingo said the news of the incident was yet to reach their office, but charged the public to always report such sensitive cases to them.

what a waste if she have children, she could have tired and endure for her children. all this wouldn't make her husband to change his views. pity goes to her family.
