A little over a decade ago, the world’s population stood at 6 billion. By the end of October, it will reach 7 billion.
With five babies being born every second, 78 million people are added to the global community each year.

According to the United Nations, the next landmark statistic will be 8 billion in 2025.
Much of the dramatic increase can be accounted for by the world’s poorest nations, which are expected to double their numbers over the next decade.
‘With the population still growing by about 80million each year, it’s hard not to be alarmed,’ said Robert Kunzig, author of an article entitled ‘7 Billion’ in National Geographic magazine.

yeah in poor country s like in nigeria, mostly norther naija where each aboki were ploided with atleast 4 wives and each reproduces more than 10 kids,then tell me why almajiris will not full every where, nigeria is one of the controless country in the world where every thing continue jagad,pple do believe that children do come from God and would not help to control it for me, 3 kids is enough

I'm not surprised...with teens getting pregnant carelessly and all....The world will not be able to contain all of us pretty soon. Abeg, when will America say we should start moving to Mars? lol
