Teenage housemaid stabs 19-year-old to death (Page 4)

What could have been a mere household quarrel at No. 6, Gbadebo Street, Ijeshatedo, Lagos, snowballed into a tragedy on Tuesday, in which a 19-year-old housemaid, Uduak Effiong, allegedly stabbed another teenager to death with a kitchen knife.



The dream of the victim, Eze Ajah, who was of the same age as the housemaid, of becoming a professional footballer, was suddenly cut short early that day in a quarrel which had started between him and Effiong the previous day.

Effiong, a senior secondary school pupil, is a housemaid to Morris Ekpanam, in the same building in which the victim’s uncle has an apartment.

Ajah’s uncle, Mr. Lawrence Jugu, said he had brought him from their home state of Ebonyi about two months ago to give him a better life in Lagos.
