AUTHORITIES of the University of Ado Ekiti(UNAD), has expelled a female student Miss Shadiat Alimot Hassan for allegedly aiding the rape of another female student student(names withheld).
The expulsion, according to the University authorities is with immediate effect. Miss Shadiat Alimot Hassan, who is in the Faculty of Humanities was alleged to have lured the victim, a 17-year old female student to g Adebayo Area of Ado Ekiti , where she was raped .
Alimot committed the offence in connivance with other two male students of the institution on July 1, 2011.
The expulsion, which was contained in a statement signed the Registrar of the University, Dr Omojola Awosusi on behalf of the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dada Adelowo, said the expelled student should not be found within the premises of the University.In the same vein, two male students , who were suspected to be Alimot’s friend and who allegedly raped the students had been suspended pending the conclusion of the students Disciplinary Committee currently investigating the matter.
The suspended students, who are now being prosecuted in Court are: Adeniyi Temitope and Betiku Cosmos, who are of the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife .
They had also been ordered to stay away from the University pending the conclusion of investigations and trial of their cases by the SDC.
Three other students belonging to suspected cult groups have been suspended pending the final determination of their cases.
They are: Daniel Adio Busola, a 300 level of the Faculty of Education, Gbolahan Adebayo, a 300 level student of the Institute of Science Laboratory Technology and Kolawole Ayotunde , a 200 level part-time student in the Department of Public Administration.
The suspension might not be unconnected with the recent cults, attack on the students of the University, where about 13 students of the institution sustained injuries of various degrees.

Like I've said elsewhere this rape menace is commoner than we'd like to accept. Thank goodness the victim had the boldness to report the crime. How could a woman aid in molesting her fellow woman was it revenge for something she did ? Shame on her !
