Would this rejection mean anything to the Young King from Otuoke and his cohorts?  Prof. Achebe, you have done well, continue to protect your hard earned dignity rather than soil it in the sand of shame and disrepute called "National Honour Award" extended to you by people who are not even fit to give it to you.  We all know that awards are given to people based on achievement and track records, but in Nigeria today, awards are thrown to mediocres and friends of the ruling government.  Remember Bros, that "a good name is better than silver and gold".
