True Christians do not strive to be hypocrites. As someone said here, there are people who say with their mouth that they are Christians but are not. They walk, talk and play the part of a Christian but their heart is not with God, thus, they usually do not know or do God's word. Many go about telling others what they should and should not do, when they themselves do not live by what they tell others. Then there are those that were caught up in the world. They were liars, thiefs, fornicators, smokers, overweight, etc. Once a person gives their life to Jesus Christ, they are forgiven of all past, present and future. But for example, if a person is overweight today and give their heart to Jesus, they will still be overweight today. Some things are a process because our minds have to be renewed and alot of the old programming have to be ejected and replaced with what is godly. Through the process, God is always there, as he promises to be.
Jesus did not hesitate or stutter in pointing out who was a hypocrite. The pharisees were constantly trying to set traps for Jesus but as he met them he told they who they were....hypocrites and even vipers.
Christians are not intolerant, some try to apply this false label to Christians. If one is on a futbol team, they are automatically for their own team and against all others. If we say we are Christians then we are for what God is for and against what he is against. To me, becasue Christians say that Jesus is the only way given to man by God to reach him, does not make us intolerant. We only say what God's word says and people still have the freedom to do and choose otherwise.
Jesus loves us all very much and that is why he advises us to do and not do certain things for our own good. He addressed those he met where they were at and corrected them. He did not turn his head and say because everyone is doing it, I'll let it slide (go)...and allow them to suffer eternally, no. Honestly, if one truly cares for and loves others then the truth has to be shared with them, right?

If a person is a Christian then he cannot be a hypocrite. Am sure today many hmmm... self made Men of God will be up on the pulpit as if sent by God when their only interest is collecting money. Is such a person a Christian?... or a hypocrite? So the question should now be Why do so many hypocrites pretend to be Christians? Didn't the very Bible warn about wolves in sbeep's clothing? ... Your question is about sheep in wolves' clothing...hmmm....try imqgine that. Am done.
