Hi,

Reading the posts in your blog is as refreshing as it is amusing. Keep it up. But out of your intentionally ridiculous responses it strikes me that you are more often more serious than you let on.

Me thinks you have rigid beliefs and you are covertly using this medium afforded you by your blog to propagate your subliminal messages.

I know for example that you are an unapologetic feminist or at least extremely pro-woman. I also know that there is no love lost between you and supporters of our dear president G.E.J.

There is another topical issue which you seem to have taking a stand on, the gay issue. But on this one it is difficult to know on which side of the fence your sympathy falls. Reading your many witty responses one is led to believe that you are pro-gay, but out of nowhere you suddenly deliver another response that makes you appear anti-gay.

I am fully in support of the rights of LGBT people living in Nigeria. I find the senate’s recent passing of an anti-gay marriage bill as both morally offensive and ethically indefensible. I believe it is time for all enlightened young Nigerians to speak out in defence of what should be Universal human rights to freedom irrespective of gender identity. It is in this spirit that I ask you, aunty Ngozi the famous agony aunt, do you support the anti-gay marriage bill or are you in support of gay people living in Nigeria?

Feel free to publish my email address for anyone who wishes to shower abuses on me for speaking out in support of fellow human beings.

Mark A.O.

My reply

Dear Mark,

How have I offended you? Is it that the way I’m not in prison that is upsetting you? Or is it that you know they will soon sentence you to 10 years or 14 years and you want other people to come to prison with you to keep you company?

How can you be asking me this kind of question? So I should say I support gay people and then David Mark and the rest of the imbecile looters will start looking for me? Or worse still, Aunty Patience will use gbagaun to finish me?

Sorry o! If you are confident to come out and openly support gay people, you are on your own o! As for me, even my publishers has told us that we should stop helping strangers; because we can’t be know if they are gay, and you know that the law said people who help gay people will go to prison for ten years.

When Jonathan refuses to sign the bill into law (very unlikely because we all know the man is emptier than an empty barrel) I’ll gladly proclaim my belief that all men and woman are equal irrespective of segxwal orientation. But before then, if you are gay, or if you use to have pity for gay people, please, I take God beg you, I don’t know you o! Prison will not fit me at all.

Thank you.

Aunty Ngozi

P.S.: I would have published your email address but you've done nothing to offend me.
