Finance minister, and arrowhead of the removal of subsidy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, today in Abuja vowed to resign as minister if the Federal government bows to pressure and rescind its decision on subsidy.

Pointblanknews.com sources  hinted that Okonjo- Iweala got infuriated when a flank of ministers expressed reservation at the timing and perceived illegality of the move. Her strongest backer at the meeting was Petroleum minister, Deziani Allison-Madueke.

It was learnt that President Goodluck Jonathan called for conributions, and allowed everyone to express themselves.

He also expressed worry at the spate of protests, and violence that trailed the decision.

Some of those who spoke against the decision at today's federal excutive council meeting, insisted that the timing which conincided with the Boko Haram menace could spell disaster in the nearest future.

According to our source " she was very unhappy, and said I will resign from this cabinet, she did not like the way some of her colleagues were talking and did not like the President's body language"

Pointblanknews.com however learnt that it  was decided that the reaction of the people should be gauged for few days , and that the National Assembly should be consulted again when they resume.

GEJ should have asked why she was sack by OBJ before re-employing her into his constituency. I wondered if she has the well being of Nigerians at heart.

Nigerians will really appreciate if Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Iwella will be able to come out open and tell Nigerians the good it will do us now. I mean the common man on the street.Removal of fuel subsidy is a good thing in the long run but not conducive when the implementation came up. I think is not necessary now. The Government should concentrate on how to stop terrorism of Boko Haram Sect and reduce the spate of Insecurity. Christians are dying everyday in Nigeria. Before it gets out of hand, we better do something.
