She wasnt a poor woman b4 she became the finance minister anyway..A well-known, prominent, trusted woman that has worked at world bank for so many years..So why wont she afford a mansion..

True! she may have high degree credibility before she got involved in 9ja politics business...but i tell u one thing, once you get involved n holding a key position for dat matter, u will start to know too much n wen u start knowing too much and u dont participate then its going to hurt u real bad...I DON'T TRUST ANYBODY UNDER PDP LEAD FEDERAL GOVT!

Some guy, on a live tv program (over subsidy removal) 2days  ago, CLAIMED dat a very reliable source revealed to him detailed info of a house our present minister of petroleum bought in Geneva Switzerland for $30,000,000. To me...sincerely, i think d whole system is corrupt...right from Jonathan down to d common beggar on d street. I remember in my campus days, d SUG president who served 2005/2006 embezzled N5,000,000 along-side secretly converting our SUG bus to danfo! Dat na major racket within 1yr from a super-lean financial purse like dat of a S.U.G. We cant change Nigeria except we change ourselves...truth is, as far as 9ja is concern, it will only take d hand of God to bring about dat change.

Money spent well. Those saying crap should know she probably paid for the house long before the subsidy thing came about, and not because some people are suffering then everyone should also be in sorrows. She gets a very good pay as a minister, she can most definitely afford the house if not the EFCC would have been on her case. Therefore she know what she is doing.

Abeg, which EFCC, of what importance is that commission, a corrupt body like all this individuals, they will never go after people like this big time robber Ngosi Iweala and the rest of the greedy politicians, but only after fraudsters, 419's and small thieves. That commission that is of double standard, what a useful and waste of establishment.

We are not protesting against subsidy removal. We are protesting against Corruption. The issue of subsidy sparked off the protest.....who knows where it will end up....maybe a revolution...Nigerian spring. Good economic policies is only relevant where the system permits it. Here in Nigeria, Corruption is the bedrock. Every policy is built on corruption. Creating loop holes for Cabals. The government created those loop holes so they should close them without suffering the already poverty stricken masses.GEJ is not sincere. Governor Rochas used his security votes to finance free Education in Imo state. What has GEJ done to convince us that is is different from others? Which looted fund has he recovered. Imagine paying the family of Boko Haram leader 100 million. How much did he pay to families of victims of boko haram?Do you mean without the removal of subsidy there will not be any meaningful development? THE QUESTION IS .WHY SHOULD WE EXPORT CRUDE OIL TO IMPORT REFINED PRODUCTS. Economic policy indeed!!! If we do not import fuel who will talk of subsidy? why are our refineries not working? Must we import fuel and why? CORRUPTION.
This govt finished $33BILLION in our foreign reserves in less than 2 years without anything to show for it and they are asking us to give them N1.4TR Through paying more for fuel. How much is N1.4TR in Dollars? Just a lil above $8BILLION. Now, how does a govt that finished $33BILLION on nothing wants us to believe that they will build all the infrastructures that we have ever needed and provide all the jobs all our youths need with just $8BILLION. How many of the thieves that stole the $33BILLION has been arrested? Mr Tony Anenih who got N300BILLION to fix our roads and refused to do so is still Mr President's friend. Alameighsia (difficult spelling) a convicted criminal wines and dines with the presidency always. What changes have they made in the way things are done to show us that this money will be used better this time around? And what economic sense will tell me that 8billion will do what 33BILLION could not do? We say no 2 fuel subsidy removal and bad govt. Solidarity 4eva,strike continues. Pls pass it on

thank you my brother, all of them cursing her thought she is in the same class with other ministers, Ngozi doesnt need nigeria money to be rich, she is already rich before coming to government, she is in the same class with Oby Ezekwesili; N1.2Billion is nothing to her, so people think before you comment on NP.

Dude, ermm she has been wealthy a long time ago, its not like she just became a minister from one remote village. Ngozi has been making good money from the world bank and various other places she has worked and she can comfortably afford a house like that. I don't want to be harsh with you cause it seems you don't understand that lots of Nigerians in high positions actually work hard for their money and besides if she actually stole money of some sort...she wont be bold enough to buy a house this expensive knowing fully well the EFCC will be on her case. After all, the EFCC caught people like igbenedion, ibru and co. She definetly makes enough money to afford that luxury.

SUBJECT: SCANDAL BREWING OVER NIGERIAN FUEL IMPORTS

Classified By: J. GREGOIRE FOR REASONS 1.5 (B), (D), AND (E).

1. (C) SUMMARY. A scandal is brewing in Nigeria over prices
paid by the government for imported fuel. International fuel
traders have been falsifying the dates of bills of lading to
reflect particularly high market prices, overcharging the
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) by $300
million or more. END SUMMARY.

2. (C N/F) On April 2, Chris Finlayson, Chairman and Managing
Director of Shell Petroleum Development Corporation of
Nigeria (SPDC), told Consul General and Econoff that a
scandal is brewing within the NNPC over payments made to
international fuel marketers. Finlayson said some marketers
have been changing the dates when fuel shipments bound for
Nigeria were loaded in order to take advantage of
particularly high market prices. He said the total
overpayment by NNPC may be as high as $330 million.
Finlayson noted that Shell is not one of the marketers in
question, but is becoming a leading fuel supplier for NNPC.

3. (C N/F) On April 6, Femi Otedola, President and CEO of
Zenon Petroleum and Gas, the largest supplier of diesel fuel
in Nigeria, essentially corroborated Finlayson's report.
Otedola said over $300 million has been overpaid by NNPC for
fuel imports, and that many leading international traders are
involved. According to Otedola, NNPC contracts .... FOR MORE FOLLOW LINK
